Official language

Japanese is the Official language of the congress, however, some programs will be conducted in English.

*Symposia: Japanese/English (depends on the lecturers)
*Talk/Posters: Japanese/English (depends on the lecturers)
*Others: Japanese
*No interpretrrration will be provided.

Climate

Kyoto is usually hot at the time of scheduled Conference. The average temperature in September is in the range 24-32°C.

Gratuities and tippings

Tipping is not necessary.
A service charge is included in hotel and restaurant bills, etc.

Power Supply

Although 100V is the standard power supply throughout Japan, with a frequency of 60Hz in the Kyoto area.
Plugs are the Japanese two-pin variety

Currency and Shopping

The unit of currency is Japanese yen. You can exchange foreign currency at banks, international airports, and other authorized money exchangers.

VAT/Taxes

VAT is 5% on the purchase price of most items.

VISA

Upon your request, Visa information will be issued after your Registration.

Letter of Invitation Request

Upon request, the Secretariat Office will issue a letter of invitation. The sole purpose of the letter is to facilitate the participant's travel and visa arrangements. It does not imply provision of financial or other support.
