1. Registration

◆ Pre-Registered Participants

<Resident of Japan>
Please wear your meeting badge sent to you in mid-September and enter the meeting rooms.  Only those who completed pre-registration and payment of the registration fee by Friday, August 12 can receive their meeting badge prior to the meeting. 
Your pre-registration was automatically cancelled, if you did not pay registration fee by the due date. In this case, please register onsite.

◆ For participants affected by 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes

JBS board of directors has been decided to provide following supports for participants affected by 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes.  Please contact JBS Secretariat for more detail.

  • The Society will reimburse both regular and student members participating from the affected areas for registration fees and 2016 annual membership fees. 
  • Upon request, student members participating from the affected areas can receive JPY 60,000 as travel allowance from the Society,

◆ Meeting Badge (Name Badge)

Fill out your name and affiliation into the badge.  Make sure to wear your meeting badge at all time during the meeting.  You are not allowed to enter any rooms without wearing your meeting badge.

 

◆ Program Booklet (Web-browsing)

Program booklet will be mailed to JBS members and student nonmembers who completed pre-registration prior to the meeting.  The booklets are also purchasable for JPY3,000 (tax-included) per copy at JBS Secretariat Desk as long as they are left. Web-Abstracts will be available at “Program search / Abstract browsing system”. 
 

Pre-registered members, student nonmembers and nonmembers who purchase Program booklet, can use “My Page” function by logging in.  
Login ID and Password are printed in the meeting badge.  Please concern about avoiding loss of your badge.

 

◆ Program search and Abstracts browsing App

Electric abstracts browsing App is available for Smartphones (iPhone/ Android) and tablets devices (iPad/ iPod/ iPod Touch/ Android).  You can search abstracts’ titles, see abstracts list by the time table and bookmark pages with it. 
This App can be downloaded free at App Store or Google Play. 
You need to enter a password to use it.  The password will be forwarded to you separately.

Receive JB and Biochemical journals for free

Members have free access to electronic version of “SEIKAGAKU Journal of Japanese Biochemical Society”. 
A yearly subscription (six issues) of printed version of the journals is available for JPY 2,000 (exclusive of tax).    

 

Effective period of 2016 annual membership fee:January 2016-March 2017 (One year and three months, THIS YEAR ONLY!)
*The effective period for the members who have already completed payment for this year is extended by three months for free as well in accordance with this change. 

 

Please kindly note that effective period of 2017 annual membership fee will be from April 2017 to March 2018 (one year).

 

2. Bio-industry Seminars (Luncheon Seminars)

To attend a Bio-industry Seminar, you need a ticket for each seminar due to limited amount of lunches offered at a seminar. 

◆ Pre-registered participants

Those who registered for Bio-industry Seminar(s) will be receive ”Bio-industry Seminar Ticket(s)” with your meeting badge in mid-September.   Please make sure to bring it (them) with you. 

 

◆ Participants who will register onsite

30% of seminar tickets will be distributed on each seminar day.  We strongly recommend you to come to the following place to receive the tickets early since number of tickets is limited. 

Bio-industry Seminar Desk
Location: near Registration Desk1 (Foyer, Exhibition building, Sendai International Center)
Ticket Distribution Time: 8:00-10:30, September 25-27

(Tickets are limited to one ticket per day per attendee.)

*Lunch services at Bio-industry seminars will be provided by cosponsoring companies and groups. Number of tickets varies depending on each seminar.  Ticket distribution will be closed as all the tickets are distributed.

 

◆ Attention

Bio-industry Seminar Ticket is invalid after the start time of each seminar (11:45).
Please arrive at seminar rooms before the start time.  If you do not show up the rooms by the start time, the lunches will be provided to those who are attending the seminars without the tickets. 

 

◆ Attending Bio-industry Seminars without tickets

You can attend Bio-industry Seminars without tickets, however, note that no lunch service will be provided.  

 

3. Late-Breaking Abstracts

Late-Breaking Abstracts submitted during the period from June 20 to July 15, will be presented at the Poster Presentation room.  For those whose papers have been accepted for oral presentations, you must make both oral and poster presentations.  Late-Breaking Abstracts will not be included in printed Program booklet, however, they will be included in Program search/ Abstract browsing system. 

 

4. Exhibition-Machinery, Chemical Reagents, Books etc.-

You need to register if you plan to attend only Exhibition.

5. Services & Facilities

◆ Snacks and Beverages

Snacks and beverages can be purchased at the Exhibition room during the meeting. 
Drink service will be provided by cosponsoring company on Monday, September 26.  Please kindly understand that number of drinks is limited. 

Following shops are open on September 26 and 27 on Kawauchi kita campus.

No paging service will provided except in emergency.

The cloakroom is available for the storage of your luggage.   Please note that valuables, computers and perishable goods cannot be accepted.

◆ Business Center

No business center in the meeting venue. 

 

◆ Internet Access

Free Wi-Fi is available at lobby and hallways in Sendai International Center. 
Wi-Fi SSID will be informed on the meeting site.  

 

◆ Parking

There are some parking spaces on Sendai International Center, however, participants are encouraged to use public transportation due to the limited capacity.

Parking Fee: First one hour: JPY200.  JPY100 per 30 minutes after one hour passed. 

 

◆ ATM

There is no ATM inside of the meeting site. However, there is an ATM inside of a convenience store near Kawauchi campus, Tohoku University.  Please see Access page for location.   

 

◆ Delivery

The Delivery Desk will be opened as follow:

6. Supports for JBS members with special needs

JBS starts providing supports for JBS members with special needs. 
Our first project is setting up “Consultation Desk” in our office.

7. Participants with Children

Nursing Room
A nursing room for babies will be open.  Please do not hesitate to use this room for break spaces having meal or rest breaks with your child/children. 
Please note that you must stay with your child / children when using the room as there will be no staff in attendance..  Please also note that JBS2016 will not be responsible for any accidents that may occur during your use of this room.

8. Prohibitions

◆ Photography/ Recording

 Photography, video recording, and sound recording of the presented data is prohibited. 

 

◆ Mobile phones

Mobile phones are prohibited in all of presentation rooms.  Please set your mobile phones to silent mode or turn them off while in the presentation rooms. 

 

◆ Smoking

Smoking is prohibited except in the designated areas.
