Late-Breaking Abstracts

We invite submissions of Late-Breaking Abstracts in order for those affected by 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes to have enough time to submit their abstracts. Meantime, we also invite Late-Breaking Abstracts from researchers who are advancing their researches after the deadline of regular abstract submission. We look forward to receiving papers based on latest research achievements.

1.Presentation Style / Notes

  • Late-Breaking Abstracts will not be included on printed program booklets. They will be included only on abstract browsing system (website).
  • Presentation style: Poster presentation
  • We accept Late-Breaking Abstracts in order of submission time.Due to the limited space for poster session, we may close the period earlier than the above date when the number of Late-Breaking Abstracts reaches the limit number. We strongly recommend you to submit abstracts as early as possible.

 

2. Abstract Submission / Requirements

  • You must be a JBS member and complete the payment of annual membership fee for this year in order to submit abstract for Poster presentation.
     If you are not a member, apply for membership beforehand.
    For members, we recommend you to complete payment for annual membership fee before submitting abstracts.

    Only the 89th annual meeting invites nonmember students’ submission of papers. Please enter “888888” for membership number when nonmember students submit abstracts at online submission system.
  • Complete Advence Registration before submit abstracts. In order to submit abstracts, you will need to enter advance registration ID starting with ”jbs”, which will be sent to you upon completion of advance registration.

  • You can submit only ONE paper as first author/presenter. (Symposium speakers cannot submit abstract for Poster presentation.)
     However, you can be a co-author for other papers.

1. Online Abstract Submission
1) Procedure

Click “Abstract Submission” button shown at the bottom of this page and enter necessary information.
In the process of abstract submission, you are required to enter your advance registration ID. If you have not registered yet, please complete the registration procedure for participation first.

2) Online Submission System (UMIN)

Your abstract is submitted via UMIN system. If you have any questions regarding the system, please refer to the FAQ page of the UMIN system.


3) Presentation Topics

Select your first choice and second choice from Presentation Topics.


4) Membership Number
Membership Number of the presenter will be required. If your membership application is in process, please enter “9999999” instead.

5) Payment date of 2016 JBS Membership Fee

You are required to enter the date you paid 2016 JBS membership fee, which you can find in the receipt of your payment.

2. Oral Presentations

Apply for Oral Presentation
We call for applications for oral presentations. Please choose oral presentation if you wish to apply for oral presentation in the online submission process.
Please note that you must make both oral and poster presentations if your submission is accepted for oral presentation by the Program Committee.


Young Scientist Awards
Young Scientist Awards will be given to those who made excellent oral presentations.
Applicant eligibility: students or those who earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD within 2 years.


Only the 89th annual meeting invites nonmember students’ submissions of papers. However, they are not eligible for Young Scientist Awards.

3. How to fill abstract from

[Attention]
The abstract you submit for JBS2016 will be recorded. The abstract must be prepared for JBS2016 and cannot be identical nor extremely resemble to the abstracts which you have already presented at other conferences.


1) Alphabetical notation of authors’ names
On the author index page, names of authors will be shown in alphabetical order by alphabetical notation of authors’ names which you enter on abstract submission form. The name of one author cannot be shown consecutively in the index page, if the alphabetical notations of her/ his name are entered differently.


2) Length of Abstract
The length of an abstract body should be 2,315 characters or less including a title, names of authors, affiliations, abstract body and keywords.
We recommend you to adjust the text length within the character limit in advance, then copy and paste it into the form.


3) Receipt Code and Password
Receipt Code and password should be retained.
You will receive an automatic confirmation email including Receipt Code after you complete online abstract submission. You need both the Receipt Code and a password you create in the submission system to view and edit your abstract.

 

4) Confirmation Notice of Abstract
Confirmation notice will be sent to registered email address, when you complete your abstract submission successfully.
Normally this notice should be received in a few minutes after completion. If you do not receive the notice, you may have registered wrong email address or the abstract submission may not have been completed successfully. In this case, please log in and correct your email address if it is wrong. Or, please start over the abstract submission.

4. Edit / Withdrawal of Submitted Abstracts

1) Edit
You may edit submitted abstract during submission period as many times as you need. You will receive an automatic email confirming your edition.
You cannot edit it after the submission is closed.


2) Withdrawal of Submitted Abstract
You may withdraw submitted abstract during submission period. You will receive the automatic email confirming your withdrawal.
You cannot withdraw it after the submission period is closed.


3) Notice of Acceptance / Rejection
Notice will be sent to registered email address in the beginning of August. We recommend you to register email address other than free mail addresses. The notice may not be sent to free mail address successfully. We appreciate your understanding that only Program Committee will be responsible for acceptance and rejection.
